The company works at the intersection of policy and practice, connecting research and consultancy expertise with the operational reality of transport and logistics. The organization already has a strong foundation in TCO, electric freight transport, charging demand, charging hubs, energy management, zero-emission zones and road charging.

To further develop its market position in energy, charging infrastructure and the decarbonization of freight transport, they are looking for a Senior Advisor Energy and Charging Infrastructure for Freight Transport.

Mission

As Senior Advisor, your mission will be to develop the market and win new assignments relating to energy, charging infrastructure and the decarbonization of freight transport.

You will identify opportunities before they become public tenders, develop relationships with relevant stakeholders and translate client needs and market developments into new propositions.

The role combines entrepreneurship, business development and substantive advisory work, working with stakeholders ranging from ministries and provinces to grid operators, trade associations and transport companies.



Key Responsibilities

Business development & market development
• Develop the company’s market position in energy, charging infrastructure and freight decarbonization.
• Identify opportunities before they appear as formal tenders.
• Build and activate a relevant network of clients and stakeholders.
• Initiate new client conversations and develop long-term relationships.
• Translate client needs and market developments into propositions and assignments.
• Develop new business opportunities and contribute directly to commercial growth.
• Bring together the right colleagues, experts and partners for bids and projects.

Energy, charging & freight transport
• Follow developments in energy, charging infrastructure and freight decarbonization.
• Understand developments around charging infrastructure, grid congestion, energy management and mobility policy.
• Engage with topics such as depot charging, charging hubs, energy contracts and the role of grid operators.
• Understand the business-economic implications of decarbonization, including TCO, business cases, subsidies and investment decisions.
• Translate market and policy developments into concrete opportunities for the company.

Client & project development
• Work with public and private stakeholders, including policymakers, grid operators, trade associations and transport companies.
• Translate client needs into relevant and actionable propositions.
• Initiate and steer projects at a high level.
• Bring together internal and external experts where specific technical or methodological expertise is required.
• Contribute to proposals and the successful delivery of assignments.

Team development
• Involve junior and medior colleagues in assignments and business development opportunities.
• Share market knowledge, client relationships and opportunities with colleagues.
• Coach and develop colleagues where appropriate.
• Contribute to building a substantive team around the energy and freight transport market.

Profil

Education
• Relevant higher professional or academic education.
• A specific technical or transport degree is a strong plus.
• Different educational backgrounds can be considered when combined with strong senior-level experience and demonstrated market knowledge.

Languages
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Dutch is a strong plus.


Experience
• Proven track record in business development, with personally developed opportunities and won assignments or substantially expanded client accounts.
• An active and relevant network that can be independently activated.
• Substantive credibility at the intersection of energy and transport.
• Understanding of energy, charging infrastructure, grid congestion, decarbonization and mobility policy.
• Experience in charging infrastructure, depot charging, charging hubs or energy management is a strong advantage.
• Experience in freight transport and logistics is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of TCO, business cases, subsidies and investment decisions is a plus.
• Experience with quantitative policy research, forecasts, scenario analysis or European projects is an advantage.
