In this role, one must use its creativity to identify opportunities and make connections with other stakeholders to improve economics and commercial offering. The role is very well balanced between short term sales and longer customer developments. A portfolio of existing customers is already in place and the trader will have regular interactions on pricing and operational elements. An entrepreneurial spirit is needed, as this role can encompass more than actually described.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
o Search for and approach potential LNG customer prospects and maintaining a funnel of new & prospect LNG customers.
o Negotiate and execute sales contracts, long term and short term, of the LNG with customers and/or suppliers.
o Liaise with the pricing desk to obtain best pricing structure for customers in order to finalize and LNG sales deal.
o Liaise with the operations team to develop the correct logistical set up for the intended supply and analyze the consumption or trading pattern of the customer.
o Engage with a variety of stakeholders, able to speak to various functions and roles that people have.
o Maintain close relationships with customers, to really understand what they need and know their (financial) situation and growth plans.
o Co-develop the Bio-LNG and Synthetic LNG proposition.
o Represent the organization in seminars and conferences.
o University degree, preferably within a relevant background
o Fluent in English
o Fluency in at least one more foreign language, preferably German or Spanish
o 6+ years relevant working experience
o Deep understanding of the shipping and bunkering market
o Experience with the energy market is preferred
