In close collaboration with the Account Management team, you create partnerships with retailers and convince them of our strong category vision. Based on retailer-specific shopper insights and through strong implementation of all key category dynamics, you create joint category plans which accelerate category growth at the retailer.
In this position, you report to the Commercial Director Belux and are based in Ghent. You manage a team of 2 Category Managers.
Lead Category Growth: You quantify the full potential of each category at the assigned customer(s). You develop recommendations based on a profound understanding of the shopper, the customer and data-driven analysis -on assortment, promos and shelf- in order to maximize the revenue for the category.
People management: You are a true team leader! Great at coaching and engaging your Category Management team. You guide them towards delivering and executing the team objectives, in order to ensure business continuity and achieve the finance objectives. You coach for growth and bring their individual talents alive!
Shelving & shop floor: You implement the shelf vision, assortment logic, promotions, … across channels and shop format within each category in order to increase category accessibility/visibility and, by doing so, maximizing category performance.
Recommendations & insights sharing: You act as category consultant to the account management team and in the management of the trade marketing fund in order to ensure a full alignment between the overall marketing strategy and the Customer Development Plans. You build recommendations towards several stakeholders (sales, marketing and the retailers), to accelerate category growth at the retailer and to boost the sales of all our products.
Projects: You participate to category projects -e.g., re-shelving project for a specific customer- in close collaboration with all relevant -internal and external- stakeholders in order to make sure that all marketing and business milestones are achieved.
You have a Master's degree or equivalent through experience.
Excellent knowledge of English is a must.
Fluency in Dutch and French is a big plus.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
You have at least 7 years or more of relevant commercial experience in e.g. Sales, Marketing, Strategy/Business Development, etc.
You have extensive experience (5 years or more) as a Category Manager.
You have a first experience as a people leader.
Having worked in a strong FMCG branded company is a must.
Having worked in a retail context is a must.
You have Project Management skills and you have a strong customer focus.
You are a strategic, conceptual & innovative thinker and have strong analytical skills (incl. Statistical).
Your negotiation & interpersonal skills are excellent.
