International Sales Manager


Our client is an International Player in FMCG, based in Brussels


In this position, your goal will be to generate and improve the sales of the products outside our home markets.
This involves maintaining and developing the existing customers / distributors and looking for new business opportunities in accordance with the export strategy. -
You develop and implement the export strategy (with a first focus on the US) by prioritizing business opportunities based on in-depth market research on product, markets, customers and competition. You develop the right product portfolio across the different markets, to the needs of the customer.
 - You are responsible for developing new business, but you also maximize sales opportunities with existing customers (retention and upselling). - Responsible for the export P & L, ensure that all sales activities are carried out within the agreed budgets, volume, sales and within the given time scales.
 - You are aligned with and permanently in contact with internal stakeholders to create the best sales process (production, logistics, finance, legal, marketing, new product development). 
- Working with a network of brokers and distributors, you constantly assess their performance and check their work so that relevant information can be provided to the board (scorecards).
 - Attend relevant trade fairs, exhibitions and events.
- You report to the Global Sales Director.
 - You will be able to recruit a team of 2 direct reports.
Education University degree or similar through experience. Languages Excellent knowledge of English and French. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus. Knowledge / Experience


You have a strong track record in an Export Sales role of at least 7 years, preferably in a similar industry. You must have a first class mix of project management and commercial skills with a high level of business sense. You have previously worked on a strategic level in a similar role. You are willing to travel internationally (20% of your time). You are used to functioning on a senior level and to present it to the Board of Directors. Personality  You are a strong influencer and negotiator who has built long-term profitable relationships. You are an experienced account manager, even from a distance. You are an analytical person and you translate data into commercial actions and initiatives.
